I'll have to try the access ones. what would really help and I'm not
sure why debian stopped doing this would be to include the kernel
config on the disk so one could examine it.

Anyone who thinks UNIX is intuitive should be forced to write 5000 lines of
code using nothing but vi or emacs. AAAAACK!
