Compiling My Kernel -- still having trouble

Hi Deb,
If it were me, I'd try the latest tar ball of linux kernel (2.4.26,
untar the thing, then get the checkout script from linux-speakup.org
or use the one you now have. Either symlink /usr/src/linux-2.4.26 ro
/usr/src/linux and then run checkout from anywhere on your machine or
cd into the directory as in 'cd /usr/src/linux-2.4.26' and run
checkout there. The checkout script will pull the latest cvs of
speakup down and stuff it into your current directory. In this case,
it 'll be your kernel source tree. My recent checkouts for both
2.4.26 and 2.6.6 have resulted in clean patches with no errors and the
ultimate compilations were also successful.
