dectalk express problems

I just got my irst real synth, and speakup is working great. one problem
though.
after i use it for a while, I'm having the same problem as Jacob reported
back in may of 2003. (i believe).
Words with one embeded number, such as a2ps, 3d, ps2ascii, etc, are being
spoken without the number.
nevertheless, this is very annoying.
how can I fix this?
i'm using firmware 4.2cd.
p.s.: great job on cvs speakup - it's extreamly responsive. jiffie_delta
could be set way up though, but not too high.
