Hi

At one point I heard that newer sound cards, particularly the Creative Labs
SBLive! 1024 and the SBAudogy had mini processors and RAM on the card
themselves, similar to graphics cards.  If I'm mistaken, then I think this
ought to be the case - gamers always prefer graphics cards with better
processors and more RAM as graphics manipulation doesn't take up computer
resources.  The same could happen with audio.
