Igor, The command to send dectalk to identify it's version of firmware is: [:ver speak] I use echo [:ver speak] >com1: I hope this helps! Cecil P.s. When I do this, my dectalk express reports version 4.4 ab from Dec, 1997...... File I loaded claimed to be 4.61..... strange indeed!
