OT: Hacking your Tivo

Ah, what great news, Debbe. I had tried to get AFB to investigate this a
couple years ago--but that's beside the point.

Question: Is the hack achievable without sight? What are the required
skills? Good with,

soldering?
wiring?
computer parts installation?
kernel hacking?

PS: Did you put a serial port and Speakup on the Tivo? That had been my
plan of attack.
