Hi.  You have an old version of speakup CVS.  The keys were moved in
later versions.  In the version you have, punctuation is on the function
keys.  Try speakup-f9 and 10.
***Warning!! This key is a guess since I am now running the latest
speakup.  Experiment with speakup-function key to find out the right
ones.
