Ok, here's my 2 cents worth. First thing to check is that the
soft synth is loaded. cat /proc/speakup/synth_name. if it comes
back with sftsyn as the loaded module it's loaded ok. Next, have
you run the speech-dispatcher-0.3/src/tests/run_test ?
cd to the tests dir and run
run_test basic.test
if this works and you get speech everything is compiled correctly
and I would need more info in order to troubleshoot the issues.
