help compiling speechd-up

Hmmm, Hi Chuck, is /usr/local/lib in your ldso.conf file?  I am
wondering if automake is not finding libspeechd because the directory
isn't in the library loading path.  On another note, what version of
automake are you using?  It needs to be 1.7 or above.
