Speakup is a kernel driver, and linux is just the kernel.
So basically, all distributions use linux kernels, in that respect
they aren't any different. I don't think any distribution is "best"
for speakup, since they all use linux kernels. You should be able
to get speakup working on any linux distribution. There is a matter
of convenience, if the distribution already has speakup kernels
built for you. But that alone doesn't make one "better" or "best".
The choice of distribution is pretty much a personal thing. Most
people try a few different distributions before settling on one
they like.
