I can't remember off-hand which chapter it is, but if you check out the 
document spec.txt in the exim documentation, the contents are at the top 
and they'll tell you which chapter you need, alternatively check out the 
html docs at:
http://www.exim.org

In addition, if I remember rightly, the config file Kirk sent you is for 
Exim 3, if you are using Exim 4 then there are some significant changes 
wwhich you may wish to read about, the sample config file that comes 
withthe source distribution may help you here.
