speakup and console

This is my first posting here so a big helo to all.

I'm building a live cd based on knoppix ( www.knoppix.org ) that has a speech 
synthetizer and a screenreader + lots of console software in it. .
I would like to know are there any possibilities to direct speakup output into 
userbase so that I could pass it further along to software synthesizer.
