Higher Resolution

I have seen the same results in certain circumstances which I never am
able to identify either.  I can usually get 80 by 50 by just setting
vga=extended however.  It may be that although the video card can
handle a higher resolution the necessary video ram has not been
installed on the card.  Try extended and see what you get.
