partimage boot disk

Hi.

There is no way to boot the system rescue cd at this time off of a
floppy, though I do agree that this would be a useful feature, and
will bring it to Francois' attention.

As for using the old speakimage boot floppies, there are a couple
options open to you.

1. I could build a custom boot disk for you. However, given the fact
that we're dealing with floppies here, I can't promise that you could
have the newest kernel on the disk. In fact, I believe our last disk
was with linux 2.4.20, because later kernels were too big to fit on
the disk, and we've already stripped the kernel configuration as much
as possible.
Having said this, you would need to let me know exactly, and I mean
exactly what support you need in the kernel (hardware, file systems,
ETC.), and I could see what I can do.

2. If you are comfortable with building your own kernel, I can send
you instructions which explain step by step how to build your own boot
disk. There are a couple advantages to this approach. First, you know
best what kind of support you need in the kernel, and could configure
it to meet your needs exactly. Second, you have the hardware on which
you will be running the kernel. That means that you could test the
boot disk as many times as you'd like until you get things the way you
want them, without having to wait for me to rebuild the boot disk for
you with a new configuration each time, until we get something that
works for you.

Hth.
