linux 2.4.22 locks up my box as well

Hi all.

Someone here posted earlier that his box locks up right after booting
linux 2.4.22. My server locks up with 2.4.22 before I ever get to the
login prompt (although I'm very close to the end of the boot up
sequence at this point).

The problem can't be with cvs speakup, since I'm using speakup 1.5
here.
