Where would you like to go today?

I suspect you and I have far more agreement than disagreement on these
points, but we've strayed well off my central point and I'd like to go
back to it.

I'm not interested in debating the finer points of whether or not Linux
is ready for non technical end users. Wrong direction for my issue.

My issue, which I would like to restate now, is that it is profoundly
irresponsible of those in charge of maintaining our national
infrastructures to expose our access to power, transportation, and
telecommunications to disease prone technology, well known to be riddled
with security holes just waiting for the next half-baked exploit.

We need to point this out to the media in our communities. I want to see
the media questioning this, rather than likcing their chops over all the
juicy viruses--and how awful it is that somebody would do that. Wrong
focus. They act as if the underlying OS can be taken for granted. We
need to point out that it shouldn't be taken for granted, and that the
officials who do are culpible.
