Hi:

as far as I know, pine uses $MAIL to determin the inboxpath which, at least
on the systems I've used, is /var/spool/mail/username except on one box
where it was
/usr/spool/mail/username.  Actually, now I think about it, I think the
inboxpath is configurable.
