Speakup and Accent Synths

Couple questions:

For the Accent PC internal, do I simply plug it in and go? I know the
command line for lilo would be
speakup_synth=acntpc
I don't need to set the card any special way, do I?

If I go to use an external Accent, do I have to set the dip switches
any special way? I understand the default config for the serial is
9600,E,7 instead of the usual 9600,n,8.

If there is an RTFM for this, then sorry for the noise but otherwise,
the help would be much obliged.
