help with dosemu; getting very frustrated

Yes, I knew that. However, whenever I tried to install dosemu as root by running "dosemu", I got the following message.
Your are logged in as user root. The local configuration within
this DOSEMU installation is not intended for secure operation.
You need to run this as normal unprivileged user.
If I could in fact get dosemu to run as root, that would be grate. I'm using the latest version which is 1.0.2.0.
