Grub was Re: Installing Speakup separate from Linux.

OK, that's about what I saw last year. I stayed with lilo because lilo 
appears to be more accessible.

For the record, you can also password protect partitions with lilo. Look 
at the lilo man page, and look for:

restricted
password=
