Installing Speakup separate from Linux.

Hi, Anna. You have a couple of options. First off you can get the speakup
enabled rpms of the Red Hat kernel, modules, etc, and install that over top
of the existing kernel in your installation.
Second, choice is to download the lates 2.4.17 kernel tree, patch it with
speakup, and compile from source.
As for boot loader it doesn't really matter. Although I suggest grub. Grub
is a good boot loader, and I suggest using grub if you have an ext3
partition.
One thing is for sure you will want ext3 partitions, because they are much
more stable than ext2.
