Greg:

I see your problem. You're hearing the list of options but missing that 
the server wants you to type in a number. So, you type 'C' and didn't get 
Canadian forecasts, but rather changing screen parameters. You need to 
type 2, that's the number two, for Canadian forecasts.

Or, if you know a three leter city code, you can just type that in. For 
example, type:

yyz for Toronto
nyc for New York
dca for Washington DC
msp for Minneapolis, St. Paul
ord for Chicago
lax for Los Angeles
sfo for San Francisco
mco for Orlando
mia for Miami
den for Denver
atl for Atlanta
bos for Boston
