Hi Ed. Thanks for the info. Also, to the rest of the listers, got another question. You know how I have been talking about the problem with corrupted tar archives? Anyway, has anyone successfully used Adaptec to make a Cd with the speakup or linux kernel archives, and then put them on the linux box, and untar it with no problems? If so, let me know. Also, I'm pretty sure you had to install the iso9660 filesystem module during installation of let's say a Debian system? because I am now realizing that I didn't install any modules for iso9660. Another reason why this slipped my mind is because I was able to install the base system, and use aptget to install an additional 100 or so packages with no problems. I am able to mount Cds, and copy files fine off of cds. Could me having not installed a module for iso9660 during the installation of my debian system have anything to do with the problem I am experiencing with tar archives being somehow corrupted once reaching my linux box? Thanks in advance for any info!
