Yup agreed but at the time, was a lot of bang for my buck although now the
same configuration would cost less!

I do have a box with a 500MHZ motherboard and it has isa and pci slots both
and lots of room in it.  Guess I could turn that into a Linux box but bought
it for beta work.

One thing I don't like about compaqs is you cant upgrade them.  I got one
with only 2 PCI slots.  One of my 486s has 5 isa slots, three filled with
network card, sound, and parrellell port.  They don't make computers like
they used to!
