Hi all,

Jed, I'll try to answer your questions in a general way, then others
will have to take over.  I'm not a techie.

Yes, it does, works under 7.whatever too.

Not sure.  Check on linux-speakup.org to find out which synthesizers
are supported.

Since speakup is a screen reader, unlike emacspeak, it will work when
editing scripts.  You can use any of the usual Linux editors like
emacs or VI.  the cursoring may not be the best, but it works well and
is under constant improvement!  Works great with Pine and Lynx.
