a few questions

			Hey guys.  OK, i need some info.  I am brand new to the linux world and 
i'm ready to get started.
I am involved with amateur radio and we have a program that we use to link 
repeaters together called IRLP.  It uses red hat linux version 6.2.
Does this speakup program run under that version of linux?
I also have a speak-out synthesizer.  Will that work?
How is the program with editing files such as script files?
How about using programs like pine and lynx?
Any information would be appreciated.
