Well, you need the OS hooks (in this case MSAA), you need the application to
make use of it (which netscape does from what I'm hearing), you need the app
to make use of the document object model (which it does), you need jaws to
be able to reference the DOM (which it only does if the application vendor
provides a hook or call which a jaws script can make to get the DOM object
tree), and then you need jaws scripts to pull it all together. Thus, if
freedom Science Fiction and netscape get together a bit then it might
happen. However, if they don't cooperate then I don't think jaws can see the
DOM and thus can't do much with netscape.

Please set me straight if I'm wrong on this one! Maybe just the act of
supporting MSAA will give the screen reader access to the DOM. Maybe all
that needs to be done is writing the scripts, which isn't a huge deal since
much can be reused from the Internet Explorer scripts.
