wierd speech problems.

I'm not sure if this  is a linux problem, or a lite talk  problem. but for
the last four or five days I've been doing what I need to do and the lite
talk will just completely stop talking.  I  can't bring it back with any
commands, and when I reboot the computer it doesn't come back up. However,
if I take it into windows, I can get it to talk, then I bring it back to
linux and it  talks just fine. any ideas?
