Making Speakup Optional

Speakup changes the default keymap in the kernel only as I understand it.
I just know that I made a mistake in my last posting. It's "loadkeys -d"
not "-k." Anyway, I just tried it and got a normal US keyboard with no
review functionality. To get Speakup's keymap back, I had to change
directories into /usr/src/linux/drivers/char/speakup and type "loadkeys
speakupmap.map." This restored review functionality. Sorry for the error
and I hope this helps.
