Hi: Don't see why you couldn't add speakup to an Esmith distro. Since linux is licenced under the GPL, you should one way or another be able to get access to the .config file used to make the kernel. Then all you need to do is add speakup to the sources and recompile. They have to give you these things, it's part of the GPL. Geoff.
