mplayer problem

Update on mplayer situation.
I looked through the documentation and it says that there's a problem with using the oss drivers with the program so I passed alsa5 option to see what I'd get and I don't get any audio nad I get yet another error.

mplayer -vo null -ao alsa5 /dev/scd0

And this is what I get from the program.

Looks like the technology Gods are against me on this one.
Hehe.

Have never had any trouble with new hardware like I have with this dvd player and the one for the tv in the living room but that's for another list.
