how can I set baud rates?

Randy @ RCSys helped me with the serial settings the LiteTalk 3.22 uses.
Which is 9600,8,N,1; and does not use the autobaud feature from the
Doubletalk/LT.
I am wondering if the problem I have is with serial negotiation and if there
are any commands I can pass at the LILO prompt.
