does the dectalk express driver use any of the [:power xxx]/ [:version speak] stuff? just wondering, because it might be able to work with my hack. even though something's preventing it from shutting up if it gets a ton of text - if this works i'll have to hit shut-up right when the kernel messages start, i think this is the linux dectalk driver issue).
