If you use the GW Micro products, you need to use Vocal-Eyes to do the DOS
sessions.  Window-Eyes doesn't do DOS.

Yes, but you need a DOS screen reader because the c:\windows\ftp.exe is a
pc console application--yes there is such a designation in Windows. JFW
covers this to sufficient degree to make it usable with ftp. Not sure that
Win-Eyes does, though.
