OK. forget the segmentation fault error, it was only with lilo and I figured out I had the wrong parameters. I needed to add 'serial=0,9600,N8' so that I could try to get some speak out of the speakout, no punn intended. When I ran lilo this time it didn't compalin and re-read the lilo.conf file. However when I boot the speakout is still not responding.
