pentium 100 woes.

just to add to my last post,
windows 9x and 2000 both boot up on that machine just fine without any
complaints.
so it's got me stumped.
at the moment I've put my linux drive back in my pentium200 and gonna
keep it that way until I can figure this bastard out.
