If you need software which enables you to have better Accessibility to
Information Technologies, remember that when you request it of your
employer, that these items are considered to be a "Reasonable
Accomodation".

If you still have problems.  Although I personlly do this as a last
resort.  You can always contact theEEO representative within
 your employer's organization to at least explain to those making such
purchases what a "Reasonable Accomodation" is.

I left this for everyone because many of us face these kinds of challenges
when trying to obtain software or hardware different from that which
our peers utilize for doing their work.  So it is hard for those with the
pursestrings to understand a request which seems to them to be rather
arbitrary or self-serving.  It is my experience that once a written
justification is presented to them, that most times one can receive the
accomodation he or she needs.

Know this  is off topic but in my opinion, it is appropriate in that as
many of us  transition over to Linux or find other alternatives for
dealing with Information Technologies, there's no barring the door
