Hi Martin.  You could use the grml live cd, which has speech dispatcher
and flite on the cd.  Just type grml swspeak at the boot prompt.  Oh
yeah, you can also add a vol=100 parameter at the boot prompt to crank
the sound volume up.  You then have to type swspeak after the system is
booted in order to start speechd_up, and load the speakup_sftsyn module.
 You could then use the debootstrap command on the cd to install Debian.
 Of course, this means that you will need to install your own kernel on
the system, and edit a few config files.  It really demands that you are
an experienced linux user.  This process is * NOT * for newbees!
