Slackware packages emacs under the E directories, simple tar files
which will install EMACS the same as any other distro.  You do not need
to install the elisp package as that is just the source code for the
added emacs libraries; having elisp may be useful if you want to
browse through to read about how to use specific packages, but it is
not needed to run the basic system.
