<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>There has recently been some public discussion of 

Zipspeak and the availability of a new release.  As of July this year Matt 

Campbell handed over the job of maintainer of Zipspeak.  I produced 

so-called Zipspeak 8.0 in July, but have only been giving it to people privately 

upon request.  The reason for this is that over my summer holidays I have 

been restricted to a 56K connection that thruthfully is half of that.  

Also, Patric Volkerding has been on holiday recently and not replying to emails 

so I haven't been able to get an account etc.  I return to uni in three 

weeks on the 1st of October where I have a faster connection.  Therefore by 

5th October I hope to upload the version.  I may even decide to update to 

the latest version of Speakup in CVS.  Sorry for the delay and please wait 

a few more weeks - transferring 50MB across a modem is both costly and 

time-consuming, as well as error-prone.</FONT></DIV>
