try typing the address for the speakup ftp site correctly for a start, and also 

thanks for reminding me about putting the ftp client in to binary 

mode..</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I've now got the color.gz file and am well on my 

way to starting an installation of linux. I'll hopefully soon have the box I 

intend to run it on as well as the slackware software..</FONT></DIV>
