in the file spk_priv_keyinfo.h there are keys lang_dec and lang_inc. You can add them to the speakupmap.map file and then rebuild the kernel and the make should see the updated speakupmap.map and run genmap to rebuild speakupmap.h. Then synths that support lang should work.
