Speechd-up?

Hi,


I reinstalled my Debian 9.7 system and selected the Mate desktop this 
time, so I got a desktop and Orca. I installed Voxin, but was wanting to 
have the best of both worlds, being able to use both a console and the 
desktop. So I did some Googling around, and found Speechd-up which is an 
interface between Speakup and Speech Dispatcher. So apt-get install 
speechd-up and we're good to go, I can go have fun and eat barbecue 
sandwiches? Well, not so fast. Below is a log of some errors I was 
getting when Speechd-up tried to start. Today I rebooted, reinstalled 
speech-dup after having removed it last night, and it seemed to install 
okay but still isn't working. Any thoughts?
