Ok, make sure in your windows7, your volume for all your devices is maxed.
Then while in your vm after hearing the prompt, press
the number 2 while holding the capslock key.
This will increase the volume.
I believe you can increase  it to 8 or so.
Then in the vm, you can open the alsa mixer and turn up your volume there 
as well.
