For a low learning curve speakup accessible statistics package that fills 
a huge hole left by all of the toy spreadsheet software written for linux 
command line users I think you'll like the datamash package available on 
debian and arch I stumbled over searching for something else.  Source code 
is at http://www.gnu.org/software/datamash/ if you need to compile the 
package for distros missing this package.
