Hello Gina,

It does.  Some of the pins on the GPIO header are a serial port, using 
TTL levels I think.  This translates as /dev/ttyAMA0.

Or a PL2303 or FTDI USB to serial adaptor can be used.  When I plug a 
PL2303 adaptor into the USB bus it is assigned to /dev/ttyUSB0.
