Mike,
Many thanks for creating this image for the RPi. I finally had time to
download it and put it on an SD card. It came right up talking at the login
prompt after powering up the RPi.
Please keep us informed if you update things beyond this first version.

I have finally got an accessible Arch Linux image uploaded to my site for
use on the Pi.
After discovering it was something in Raspbian (Debian Wheezy variant) that
was crashing SpeakUp I switched my attention to Arch.
This image has:
1. SpeakUp
2. Emacspeak
3. brltty
Both SpeakUp and Emacspeak are using espeak.
