Numeric keypad doesn't work in Speakup under Gentoo kernel 3.4.9

Repost. Didn't change my address for the list.
Those who are more familiar with this setup, please correct me. This is all off the top of my head.
I figured this gentleman could use a quick attempt at a fix.
The patches are at the below URL.

allancox.patch and locking.patch are patches by different folks for the same issue.
Either of these patches _should deal with your issue.
The speakup repo is at:

The speakup code is included in 3.4 kernels, but apparently the keypad bug patch hasn't been applied to some versions...
As I recall, from your kernel dir, git apply --check /directory_to_patches/locking.patch should apply the keypad fix to your kernel, which you will then need to rebuild.
