Problems with starting speakup, any chance of solving?

Hello,
Thanks for letting me know its not just me. I think this problem isn't 
present for all computers with newer kernels, the GRML-medium64 daily 
build works fine on a MacBookPro. However I don't want to install Linux 
on the MacBookPro and it still doesn't really solve the problem for the 
other computers.
