FTP query

Hello list,

I am having a difficult time uploading large files to my website hosted by 
godaddy.com. I am using ncftp, but the same problem happens with lftp.

The difficulty is that while the transfer starts, it eventually stops, 
waits about five minutes, restarts, stops, etc. In many instances the 
transfer completes, but it sometimes times out. I tried a large file into 
a unix shell account, and the transfer was perfect. So it seems that the 
Godaddy server has difficulty keeping contact with ncftp. One thing that I 
notice is that when the transfer restarts, data move very quickly as if it 
had been buffered. I use comcast.

I talked to Godaddy tech support, who are quite nice, and they suggest 
using Filezilla. But as far as I can tell, Filezilla is a GUI application.
